The AI Kitchen is an actively growing hub for the University of Toronto, offering access to secure AI tools, data and expertise to support teaching, learning, research and administration at U of T.

The AI Kitchen offers tools for teaching, research and administrative work, and a Chef’s Kit of tools for development and advanced use. Every tool accessed through the AI Kitchen meets the following standards:

AI tools for development and advanced use (Chef’s Kit)

The Chef’s Kit is designed for power users, developers, and technical builders. The Chef’s Kit includes tools for secure API access, agentic coding, and model comparison — all with institutional guardrails including secure keys, token monitoring, and budget controls.

About the AI Kitchen

The AI Kitchen is a core recommendation of the University of Toronto’s AI Task Force Report and a foundational component of advancing responsible AI adoption at scale, one of three Presidential Commitments.

Currently, the AI Kitchen has soft launched with a limited suite of tools as we continue to build the foundations that will serve the entire University of Toronto community.

The AI Kitchen is actively engaging with the U of T community to understand what tools, products, and services they want to see. Check this page often, as new tools and offerings become available regularly!
